Sri Phum Rocket Festival 2026

Rocket Festival as a must-visit once in a lifetime! from the roots of folk art to a national cultural spectacle, at the “Sri Phum Rocket Festival 2026.”

Join in preserving the beautiful cultural heritage of the Sri Phum community through the centuries-old Bang Fai (rocket festival) tradition that has continuously passed down for over 313 years. It reflects the roots of faith, history, and valuable local wisdom. As a merit-making celebration of the sixth lunar month under the “Heet Sip Song,” (Twelve-Month Traditions), it is held to honor Phaya Thaen (the God of Rain) and to pray for seasonal rainfall before the rice entering the rice farming season.

The festival’s main highlight is the beautiful Ae Bang Fai (decorated rocket) parade. It shows the unique “Sri Phum Pattern.” This beautiful decorative pattern comes from “Lai Kop Ping” or “Lai Ta Kob,” an ancient art of the Suwannaphum people. Later, it was mixed with Thai designs. Local artists make this pattern by cutting paper with scissors. It is a special identity of Sri Phum that you can see only here!

June 3, 2026

- Watch the Phadaeng Nang Ai Light and Sound show. You can also see traditional rocket parades and local dance rehearsals.

June 4, 2026

June 6, 2026
