Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya's Ensemble at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs
During Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya's visit to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Princess wore an elegant dress that seamlessly blended contemporary fashion with the artistry of traditional Thai textiles.
The ensemble featured a dark navy jersey dress with a round neckline and elbow-length sleeves. Distinguished by its clean, minimalist silhouette, the design emphasized refined tailoring and sculptural structure before flowing into a skirt crafted from handwoven Thai Mudmee silk featuring the traditional Lai Taem pattern.
Carefully draped at the hips, the skirt created graceful movement and added dimension to the overall silhouette. The intricate Mudmee motifs highlighted the exceptional craftsmanship of Thailand's handwoven silk tradition, while the jersey fabric provided a modern architectural structure. Together, the two materials created a harmonious dialogue between contemporary fashion and Thailand's rich textile heritage, demonstrating how traditional craftsmanship can be reinterpreted through modern design.
The ensemble was created using handwoven silk by Taweesak Chattuwan of the CHATTUWAN Thai Silk Weaving Group, Ban Muang Lat, Muang Lat Subdistrict, Changhan District, Roi Et Province.
