The Thai government continues to advance Muay Thai as a key cultural asset and national soft power through strong collaboration among state agencies and strategic partners. The Amazing MuayThai Festival 2026, held from today through 7 February 2026 under the World Wai Kru Muay Thai initiative, reflects Thailand’s commitment to showcasing its cultural identity on the global stage while
strengthening the country’s position as a leading destination for sports tourism.
The festival highlights Thailand’s capability to integrate Muay Thai with tourism development in a structured and sustainable manner. By transforming the traditional martial art into a high-value sports and adventure tourism experience, Thailand aims to attract both domestic and international visitors, stimulate travel demand, and generate economic circulation while promoting cultural appreciation and international recognition.
Thailand is well equipped with extensive Muay Thai infrastructure, including thousands of standardized training camps and gyms nationwide that can accommodate international visitors. Supported by government measures facilitating long-stay educational visas for foreign practitioners, the initiative allows visitors to immerse themselves in authentic Muay Thai training while traveling across the country. This approach extends length of stay, increases tourism expenditure, and reinforces Thailand’s role as the global hub of Muay Thai and a premier destination for sports-based cultural tourism.
