DFT Partners with Chulalongkorn University to Elevate Agri-Innovation Entrepreneurs to Global Stage

Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) has joined forces with Chulalongkorn University to strengthen the global competitiveness of Thai agri-innovation entrepreneurs through a newly signed memorandum of understanding (MOU). Announced during the launch of Agri Plus Award 2026, the partnership marks a significant integration of government and academic efforts to advance Thailand’s agricultural innovation sector. The initiative combines academic research, technology, and innovation from the university with policy support, trade promotion, and market networks from the department to help entrepreneurs develop high-quality products that meet international standards.

According to Arada Fuengthong (อารดา เฟื่องทอง), Director-General of the Department of Foreign Trade, the collaboration will expand access to advanced knowledge, research, and innovation, as well as domestic and international expert networks. This will enable entrepreneurs to enhance product development, create added value, and scale commercially in global markets—key factors in strengthening Thailand’s long-term competitiveness.

As part of the initiative, Chulalongkorn University will support the Agri Plus Award 2026 through participation in selection rounds and the design of a 3-day bootcamp for 50 selected entrepreneurs. The program will cover essential areas such as business law, marketing, branding, and the development of high-value agricultural innovations. Participants will also gain hands-on experience through a field trip to the Halal Science Center Chulalongkorn University, where they will learn about halal product research, testing, and certification standards. This collaboration represents a key mechanism for driving sustainable growth in Thailand’s agri-innovation sector and enhancing its position in global trade.
