Government and Industry Unite at IEEE PES GTD Asia 2025 to Drive Thailand’s Clean Energy Transition

Industry leaders, policymakers, utilities, and technology providers gathered at IEEE PES GTD Asia 2025 in Thailand to advance discussions on renewable integration, grid modernisation, and digital solutions for the country’s energy transition. The high-level roundtable, held in collaboration with Schneider Electric Thailand, underscored the leading role of the government sector in driving Thailand’s carbon-neutral agenda from policy to implementation.

Senior representatives from key state agencies and utilities, including EGAT, PEA, and MEA, outlined government-led strategies to balance energy security, affordability, and sustainability. Authorities highlighted phased national approaches to renewable energy integration, long-term planning for emerging technologies such as carbon capture, hydrogen, and small modular reactors, and the importance of regulatory reform to unlock distributed energy and smart grid development.

Discussions reaffirmed that strong government leadership is central to aligning technology, market mechanisms, and private-sector investment. Supported by digital innovation from technology providers and practical input from industrial users, the forum demonstrated how public-sector direction is shaping Thailand’s role as a regional energy innovation hub and accelerating its journey toward carbon neutrality.
