Microsoft deepens Thailand partnership with massive AI investment

On March 31, 2026—Mr. Brad Smith, Vise Chair and President of Microsoft Corporation along with his delegation paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul(อนุทิน ชาญวีรกูล), Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Microsoft is preparing an additional investment plan in Thailand amounting to 1 billion US dollars over the next two years to enhance the country's digital competitiveness and improve public services’ efficiency.

Microsoft plans to collaborate with Thai private sectors and support the development of Thai personnel. In terms of investment, Prime Minister and Microsoft plan to invest in cloud and AI infrastructure in Thailand, which aligns with the country's economic and digital development strategies. Due to Thailand’s geographical location, being at the center of the region, officials said the collaboration will help support long-term economic growth, turning Thailand into a regional technology and innovation hub, and expand nationwide access to digital tools.

In this regard, Thailand prioritizes human resources development to create a new generation of personnel in data centers and technology, particularly in education and labor, following Microsoft's commitment to promoting digital and AI skills among Thais, especially in enhancing teachers' capabilities and workforce effectiveness.
