Thai PM Invites Australian Companies to Invest in Thailand

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has invited Australian companies to invest in Thailand and to use the country as a base to access the ASEAN market of nearly 700 million people.

Speaking at a Thailand-Australia business networking event in Sydney, Anutin identified five areas for greater cooperation: agriculture and food, clean energy, the digital and creative economy, advanced manufacturing, and education. He cited Thailand’s location, industrial base, infrastructure, and trade networks as advantages for companies seeking opportunities across Southeast Asia.

Anutin also promoted Thailand FastPass, which expedites government approvals for investment projects, alongside workforce development and increased use of renewable energy. Applications for investment promotion through the Board of Investment totaled about 61 billion AUS dollars in the first half of 2026, indicating continued interest in the country.

More than 53 Australian companies attended the BOI-organized event to meet Thai businesses and explore investment and commercial opportunities. Anutin is traveling to Canberra to continue his official visit to the country through August 20.
