Deputy Transport Minister Inspects Udon Thani Railway Station, Accelerates Rail Projects Ahead of International Horticultural Expo 2026
Deputy Minister of Transport Siripong Angkasakulkiat led a team of ministry executives and officials on an inspection visit to Udon Thani Railway Station to review progress in upgrading rail transport capacity, improving passenger connectivity, and advancing infrastructure development in northeastern Thailand.
During the visit, the team followed up on the progress of the Khon Kaen–Nong Khai double-track railway project, aimed at enhancing passenger and freight transport efficiency. Preparations are also underway to connect the rail network with the venue of the Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026, providing convenient access for visitors.
The visit also focused on coordinating construction and managing overlapping areas between the Khon Kaen–Nong Khai double-track railway and Phase 2 of the Thailand–China high-speed rail project (Nakhon Ratchasima–Nong Khai) to ensure smooth implementation and minimize impacts on surrounding areas.
Following the briefing and inspection, the Deputy Minister instructed all relevant agencies to accelerate implementation in line with the planned schedule to ensure maximum benefits for the public.
