Thailand Concludes Hosting of the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports officially concluded the 13th ASEAN Para Games with a closing ceremony held at the 80th Birthday Anniversary Commemorative Stadium in Nakhon Ratchasima (นครราชสีมา), marking the end of Thailand’s hosting duties from January 20 to 26.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, (อรรถกร ศิริลัทธยากร) Minister of Tourism and Sports, and attended by sports officials, event organizers, athletes, and delegations from ASEAN member countries.

Held in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, the event opened with a cultural performance highlighting the rich heritage of Nakhon Ratchasima. This was followed by a parade of athletes from across the region, symbolizing the spirit of friendship, unity, and shared experiences fostered throughout the Games.

During the ceremony, the ASEAN Para Games flag was formally handed over to Malaysia, which will host the 14th ASEAN Para Games in 2027, reaffirming continued regional cooperation through para sports.

Team Thailand delivered an outstanding performance, finishing as the overall leader in gold medals. This achievement marked the country’s strongest showing in more than a decade and reflected the significant progress of Thai para-athletes, supported by structured athlete development programs and coordinated efforts from the government and related sectors.

The government expressed its appreciation to all stakeholders, including organizing committees, partner agencies, volunteers, athletes, coaches, and the public, whose collective support contributed to the success of the Games and reinforced a sense of national pride.
