Thailand has been selected to host Interferry 2026 – The 50th Annual Interferry Conference, scheduled for 31 October to 4 November 2026 in Bangkok. The milestone event marks the 50th annual global conference of the ferry and passenger shipping industry and highlights Thailand’s growing role in international maritime transport and tourism.
Interferry is a leading global platform that brings together ferry industry executives, operators, experts, policymakers, and academics from around the world. The 2026 conference is expected to attract more than 400 participants from over 270 companies across 40 countries, covering key discussions on business strategies, maritime safety, international regulations under the International Maritime Organization (IMO), clean energy innovation, and sustainable water-based transportation.
Mr. Nithi Siprae (นายนิธี สีแพร), Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)stated that hosting Interferry 2026 reinforces Thailand’s position as a regional hub for water-based travel, tourism, and international meetings. The event provides an opportunity to showcase Thailand’s maritime infrastructure, service excellence, and distinctive waterway culture, while strengthening Bangkok’s image as a capable host city for major global conferences.
Hosting the 50th Interferry Conference also supports international networking, knowledge exchange, and technology transfer, contributing to the long-term development of Thailand’s maritime tourism and logistics sectors and reinforcing the country’s commitment to sustainable growth.
