Thailand Showcases Youth Capability in AI-Driven Health Innovation

Thailand is highlighting the growing role of Thai youth in advancing health technology, as young innovators harness artificial intelligence to develop practical solutions to national health challenges. The initiative reflects the country’s strengthening capacity in innovation and its commitment to empowering youth as key drivers of future development.

One notable example is RADIA, an AI-powered system developed by students from Bangkok Christian College. The system is designed to assess health risks related to PM2.5 exposure and analyze respiratory diseases, while expanding access to early-stage screening—an area that is often limited by high costs and reliance on specialized medical equipment and expert personnel.

RADIA combines digital lung sound analysis with artificial intelligence to identify various respiratory conditions, assess disease severity, and recommend personalized breathing exercises for rehabilitation. In addition, the system evaluates individual exposure to PM2.5 by integrating location-based air quality data with breathing patterns, allowing users to receive alerts when exposure levels exceed safety standards. The integrated approach demonstrates how digital technology can support preventive healthcare and individual health monitoring.

The innovation’s strong potential earned RADIA a commendation award in the senior high school and vocational category at the Thailand Innovation Awards 2025. The competition is organized by the National Innovation Agency in collaboration with The Science Society of Thailand Under the Patronage of His Majesty the King, providing a platform for Thai youth to develop innovations through the STEAM4INNOVATOR framework and preparing them to become future innovators and entrepreneurs.

The achievement underscores how Thai youth are stepping forward not only as technology users, but as innovators capable of creating meaningful
