The Department of Foreign Trade (DFT), Ministry of Commerce, is preparing to organize trade missions to expand overseas markets for Thai organic rice, alongside consumer promotion campaigns and participation by community enterprises and small entrepreneurs in leading international trade fairs. The initiative aims to elevate Thai organic rice, which emphasizes quality and meticulous production standards, to increase trade opportunities and strengthen international business networks.
Director-General of the Department of Foreign Trade, stated that in 2026 the DFT plans to implement a Thai organic rice market promotion and public relations project to accelerate the positioning of high-quality, environmentally friendly Thai organic rice that meets the needs of modern premium consumers worldwide. The initiative aligns with the Ministry of Commerce’s policy to add value and promote sustainability in Thailand’s agricultural sector.
Under the project, the DFT will lead trade delegations to Switzerland and Germany in February 2026 to expand markets and strengthen trade relations. The delegations will meet with government agencies, organic rice organizations, and key rice importers to exchange in-depth information on market trends, standards, and consumer demand. These engagements are expected to open new export opportunities for Thai organic rice and related products.
One of the project’s key highlights is the “Healthy Life by Thai Organic Rice” consumption promotion campaign, under the theme Thai Organic Rice x Thai SELECT: Taste Thailand Taste Organic Rice. The campaign will be conducted in collaboration with approximately 10 Thai SELECT-certified restaurants in Zurich, Switzerland, and Frankfurt, Germany. The one-week promotional campaign will present the story of Thai organic rice through premium Thai cuisine, emphasizing health benefits, flavor, quality standards, and careful production processes.
In addition, the DFT plans to extend organic rice promotion through collaborations with well-known key influencers in major markets such as the United States, China, and the European Union via social media channels during the third and fourth quarters of fiscal year 2026.
