The Tourism Authority of Thailand partners with ARTXP to support an international Art Toy artist

Thailand is strengthening its position as a leading creative tourism destination by integrating contemporary art with local identity. The Tourism Authority of Thailand is supporting the nationwide art tour project “MRKREME: THE FURRYWAYS” in collaboration with ARTXP. The project debuts in Bangkok’s historic Song Wat district, transforming the area into an open-air creative space where visitors can explore the concept of “urban gaps” through contextual art. The initiative reflects Thailand’s growing use of soft power to elevate tourism experiences through creativity, culture, and community engagement.

The project introduces an innovative “Interactive Pop-up Showcase” format, bringing art beyond traditional galleries into real urban environments. Under the concept “Please Mind the Gap,” it encourages visitors to see overlooked city spaces as opportunities for artistic expression and cultural storytelling. Through immersive activities, including a “Lost & Found” experience featuring characters hidden throughout the neighborhood, the project creates meaningful interactions between tourists and local communities while offering a fresh perspective on discovering Bangkok’s cultural landscape.

Following its launch in the capital, the art tour will expand to key destinations across the country, including Chiang Mai, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Rayong, and Udon Thani. By connecting contemporary art with diverse local contexts, the initiative helps stimulate travel, support creative industries, and promote sustainable tourism. It also reinforces Thailand’s global image as a destination where tradition and innovation coexist, offering visitors unique, high-value cultural experiences under the “Amazing Thailand” vision.
